Rands Interesting and relevant

Dean @ Lessig

My current favorite for the Democratic nomination, Governor Howard Dean, is guest weblogging over at Lawrence Lessig’s weblog for the week. Go over and read Dean’s first entry if you have a moment. Dean’s comments are interesting and relevant in the context of Lessig’s weblog, they are also further proof that weblogs are net_people.

Read it again.

What’s it sound like?

It sounds like a presidential candidate who is delivering a targeted message at specific demographic. While it’s informative, it lacks humanity… a personal voice. Dean transforms Lessig’s informative legal weblog into a platform for political shenanigans. While Lessig is free to do whatever he damned well pleases with his weblog, I would like to see Dean embrace the opportunity differently.

Governor Dean… What’d you have for breakfast? Ever talked with Bill Clinton? How does the deregulation of media ownership affect your personally? Do you sleep on your side or on your back? Do you listen to the Dixie Chicks? No, who do you listen to? Do you have high speed internet access? A cell phone? Do you swear? Fuck, yeah.

Perhaps if you’re looking for a N.A.D.D.-suitable book with a timely theme, get ‘Interface’ by Stephen Bury. Starts slow but well worth reading around election time.

If I were capable of thinking outside “the blog” none of you would exist… at least not in any relevance to me. and now to move out of the joke portion of my show.

Have you ever concidered politicians are never “OFF” like the moment you embrace a new campaign you lose humanity? only to be told by advisors to be “more human”… with the exception of maybe Sen. John McCain, who is so upbeat and personable it kind scares me… post-2000 election Bob Dole, too. Maybe it’s some kind of republican meltdown.

    *Joke mode back on*

I beileve it is because they are androids and thus the most human figures are the least human!

~Darien, Don’t blame me I voted for Gigantor (where the power is in MY hands)

MAYBE HE ONLY GOT A WEBLOG SO THAT WE’D HIRE HIM AS PRESIDENT (OTHERWISE WE’D NEVER EVEN THINK OF IT)
